Zoom! Tooth Whitening is an easy and convenient tooth whitening process performed in our office. Using the laser tooth whitening technology Zoom! Tooth Whitening system, Dr. Beninato in Omaha, Nebraska, can lighten your teeth up to eight shades, in less than an hour.

In office treatment

Zoom! Tooth Whitening uses a hydrogen peroxide gel and a special light to remove stains and discoloration from your teeth.

• Your lips and gums are covered so that only your teeth are exposed
• Zoom whitening gel is applied to your teeth
• The Zoom light is applied to activate the gel

The gel is applied for three 15 minute sessions, totaling 45 minutes of treatment, typically lightening teeth up to eight shades.

How it works

As the hydrogen peroxide in the gel breaks down it releases oxygen into the enamel and dentin of your teeth. This oxygen removes the discoloration from your teeth, without affecting the structure of your teeth. The special Zoom light enhances the action and penetration of the gel.

Maintaining your white teeth

Once you see your bright, beautiful teeth, you will definitely want to keep them that way, and we can help. Proper brushing and flossing are essential to keeping your teeth healthy and beautiful, and avoiding staining substances such as coffee, dark foods, and tobacco will help prevent discoloration from reoccurring. Periodic touch-ups can also extend the life of your tooth whitening results. We can provide you with touch-up kits that you can use at home to preserve your tooth whitening.

Who can use Zoom! Tooth Whitening?

Most people can benefit from tooth whitening. During your cosmetic consultation we will assess the current shade and extent of discoloration, and your ultimate goals.

If we believe that your teeth will not respond well to whitening, or if it is not the optimum procedure to serve your goals, we will recommend alternatives, such as porcelain veneers.

Zoom is not recommended for children under 13 years old or for women who are pregnant or nursing.
